What is "SN95"?

Just trying to figure out what that term means.

Its the term that represents the 94-04 Mustang body style. Fox is 79-93, and s197 is the 2005+ body style.

Interesting...

So then why did Ford use the SN95 term when 6 cylinder Mustangs are lumped in with the GT's and Cobra's? I don't see anything "special" about base models

So S197 is the 197th certified chassis, damn they have been busy since 1994!

I don't know if that's just specific to Ford or all manufacturers.

I'm not quite up to speed on all the specifics, but i beleive they tried to get some sort of system to designate.

I know the t-bird and Mark 8 are called the MN-12 and FN-10. M was mid-size and F was full-size. N was N. America, but the 12 and 10 numbering is very low suggesting this new system came about around 1989 when those chassis debuted. Interestingly enough, the MN-12 came BEFORE the FN-10.

So i honstly don't know the logistics behind this.
