on the stock 6 rib pully set up? wondering because i dont have the amount of money saved i thought i would for the summer set up.

that is still my goal and will get her there eventually when i can save more cash.

for now i have to cut some things.....so i figure the least needed is higher boost.

so what is the smallest i can go on the 6 rib without a lot of slipping problems????

i figure i can save on the 8 rib kit, the kb bap, and the race bypass valve. thts almost 1,000 bucks.

also do you think the car will be ok running on the cobra pumps without the bap? it should i think? how about the 60# injectors? i want to be ready for the bigger boost when i get some extra cash.

i really dont know what the car should put down at lower boost levels with whatever pully size i could get away with on the 6 rib. so i dont know where i have to be with the fuel system.

i was just getting prepaired for the higher boost and i dont think i will be able to cut it. what do you think?

So you do have a cobra tank and pumps? If so you dont need a BAP either. One thing I would look into is a bigger MAF. If you buy all of what you have listed you will have over $1000 unless you buy used.

I would just save up for the 8 rib kit since you will have to buy another pulley. There is no sense in buying all these pulleys when you wont use them for that long.

This will be my next set of mods in the next 2-3 months:

03 Cobra Tank and Pumps - $1000
8 Rib Kit with 2.8 or 2.6 pulley- $700
New SCT MAF- Not sure on price

This should put me at or aver 500 rwhp.

what injector size would be good for about 520rwhp? that will be about the final hp # i think.

yea, i am getting the cobra pumps and tank. i might skip the tank for now, my mechanic says that he is having no problems with the cobra pumps in the gt tank. not sure if im going to take that chance though.

i am getting one of the sct mafs. i would just get the smallest 6 rib pully i think i could get away with in the paxton kit, so i would not have to pay extra. then later id convert to a smaller blower 8 rib pully with the 8 rib kit.

Might as well spend the extra $600 when you've pumped all that money into the car.

When you're ready to buy, call Steve at Tousley Ford, he can get you the Cobra tank/pumps well under that price shipped

Also, that setup is typically good for around 500rwhp. My 03 Cobra was out of fuel at 486hp and had to add a BAP

They just keep getting more expensive. Way too much demand and not enough supply

A GT40 pump and BAP would support as much HP as two cobra pumps/tank....if not more. You just have to modify the stock fuel pump assembly.

^Actually a single Ford GT40 pump will support more than the dual 03-04 cobra setup LOL.
The GT40 pump usually maxes out at the low-mid 500s W/O a BAP.

I looked at a few things.
Ok
A. I wont be corner carving and ill keep the fuel gauge at around half or above...dont need the cobra tank.
B. $90 for a single GT40 pump that > 2 cobra pumps...hmmm

= saved $700 LOL. IMO its just WAY too much money to be justified unless your a corner carver and cant bear not running your car under 1/2 tank of gas. (Ofcourse I had to modify things like the basket and the hose connections....but I think it was worth it. We will see in a few days haha)

at this point an grand will help out for now. im struggling to get even enough money to do a regular sized pully set up. ran into some problems. so a grand less will be more realistic for now.

i figure i can add the 8 rib, bap, smaller pully, and race valve later.

so what do you think i can get away with? 3.3? 3.1?

the other option is to do the setup the way i wanted to but i wont be able to install everything at one like originally plan. i would get the short block installed first. save for the rest of the blower parts and install the blower at a later date.

only thing i am concerned with is the engine breakin if i do it this way. some people say i have to break in the engine under boost if it going to be a supercharger set up. so the seals seat correctly. so i dont know if the second choice is even an option?

Well Id just keep saving untill you can do it all or most of it at once. First for a smalley pulley you will still need the mini race with anything over 10psi. Trust me on that one, the car will buck like damn bull. lol As far as breaking the engine in with the blower, I would reccomend it even though the seals seat in the first 20mins of driving it. Everyone told me to break the motor in with the blower on.
