I posted this in the SN95 forum but I really need help quick so I thought I would post here also. I believe this motor is from an f150. It is roller so it can't be to terribly old but here goes.

I have been fighting an oil leak from my manifold. I removed the upper and stuff and I found this. It is on the block behind the lower manifold. It appears to be threaded. It was filled with oil whenever I first saw it. But it could have just been were it was running out of the intake.

Also is there a gasket for the distributor? Or just the o-ring around the shaft? Because once again one or the other is leaking from the front.

I have done many manifold installs and I'd hate to think I messed up so bad that I have the front and back leaking.

What sucks is I just changed them last week. I guess I didn't get a good seal on the front or back walls. Redoing it tuesday. I am using all-thread so I make sure it goes on straight. I just got the car a couple weeks ago and I haven't got to drive it much because its been pissing oil everywhere.

I agree with 71swing..
The hole in the back is for a PVC valve and should not be empty, there should be a vacuume line that goes from the upper intake to the PVC valve and then into that hole.

As for the for gaskets for the front and back. I use a very thick bead of gasket maker for those, mine black not sure if they make other colors. Never has an issue, my buddy used the gaskets once and had nothing but issues.

I don't think pics 1 and 2 are for the PCV valve. I can see the bell housing in those pics and see the block. That hole must be for a ground wire, maybe? The PCV valve is inserted into the intake manifold, not directly into the block. The oil in that hole looks to be residual oil from your leak.

The distributor has an O-ring on it and that should prevent any oil from leaking up front. Hope this helps.

The hole that is in the picture is on the block, not the intake. It is not for the PCV valve.

Clean the surface to bare metal and clean it with brake clean. Then use a thick bead of silicone like stated for the front and rear intake seal.

When you set the intake down you should see it squeeze out from between the block and intake a little.

I usually let mine dry overnight before starting the engine.

Also the distributor O ring is the only gasket for your distributor.

The oil you see is either coming from the front of your intake or the timing cover.

After seeing that big ass picture I can tell what whole you maybe talking about better.:nice: :hail2:

Didn't remember that whole in the block so I went out the garage and check for it. My factor block doesn't have that same whole. so you may just need to get a proper bolt and plug it.

But at the same time i doubt it leads to anything, like oil or water passages. It may just be a mounting whole. The leaking intake gasket maybe your only problem.
