What is this (part 1) ?

I was inspecting under my stang yesterday and found that a nut was screwed in the blue object with a wire coming out of it....but the wire was spliced and exposed....i'm trying to figure out where it goes and what's its function?....doesn anybody know? Here are some pictures....thanks guys...

Oil level sensor. It turns on a little light in your dash when you're a quart low on oil.

OH!!!!.....ok..*feeling dumb* that's why i wasn't able to tell but i check my oil all the time anyways....thanks man...
