What is this part on my fuel line (with pic)

Hi guys,

i am busy chasing fuel pressure gremlins over here :nonono:

i cant figure if my autometer fuel pressure guage is lying to me...

in the pic below you can see the fuel pressure sender unit ( i marked it with a *) but between the sender and the fuel rail there is a silver regulator looking thing.. it has a ford sign on it so i think it is ment to be there... but could it be effecting the reading on the guage. I think id get a better or truer reading by measuring at the shrader valve..

but any way, what is this bit..

Good luck finding your problem :nice:, but if you want my opinion, it's your SC. Why not send it to me and I'll dispose of it for you ;) :D

I have been trying to figure out what that little thing is to, I have took it completly off the stang and it didnt effect anything, im sure its not the fuel pressure regulator cause the regulator is mounted on the rails, when i took this piece off you can see that fuel flows straight through the thing.........the ford part number on it is :951106 a vf1ze-aa if anyone knows anything about this mystery part, please enlighten us.............:-)

It's hard to see how many hoses and/or vacuum lines a reconnected to it in your picture. What is the black hose running up just behind the metal housing?

If there is just an inlet and outlet, with no vacuum lines or other fuel fittings, I would say it's a fuel line damper. These act like a shock absorber to reduce fuel pressure pulsations in the line.

You would get a more steady reading if your FP sensor was on the other side of that silver thing marked ford which is called the fuel regulator. the way you are right now your gauge is probally jumpy. Check my picture below
