I'm doing the front suspension on my 65 2+2 and found 2 of these in a box. I don't recall removing anything like this. Looks like it might fit above the spring insulator between the top of the spring and the shock tower but I'm not so sure. The Ford Shop Manual doesn't seem to show these in there either. Does anyone recognize it??

you are correct it goes above the coil insulator, but on a 64 1/2. 65s have them welded in and some later 64 1/2 were welded in. yours should be welded in place.

Thanks horse sense..much appreciated. I was having nightmarish visions of removing everything again to pop these in...whew.
