What Is This Wire Called, So I Can Replace? Goes From Alt To Battery.

Edit: Here is a picture of an alternator I found for sale for my model. This red piece in the picture, this is burnt and melted a bit, toward the top, on mine. Can I replace this without replacing the entire alternator? I don't mind rigging it so long as it would be safe, also curious what it's called.

It's called the main B+ terminal. Yes it can be replaced. The problem I see is getting the part. Perhaps try a salvage yard.

But think about this. Likely there's something else wrong that's making the terminal overheat.

Yeah there was a giant system installed, incorrectly, like 2000watts etc etc.. long story But thank you, making a trip to the junk yard Monday, they have a lot of these and other 4.6 cars. Thank you!
