While cleaning up rust on driver door hinges, came across this box.
It's attached to 2 hard lines that I am going to assume is probably
to gas tank. Do I need the box? Can I just connect the 2 lines and
bypass? I am sure whatever it was meant to do is no longer functioning.
Smog stuff right?

thanks
andy

Andy, one of the lines from that bottle runs to your gas tank and the other to a vacuum on your carburetor. Many people simply cut the line at the bottle and plug the vacuum. It is meant to prevent gas fumes from venting straight into the environment. Older Mustangs simply had vented gas caps.
