Hey All,
This is on a later model 5.0 that has an unknown history:

What is the "L" shaped thing on the cam sprocket? Is it simply an oil slinger or is it a mechanical fuel pump actuator? If not for the fuel pump, what do I need on this engine to use a mechanical fuel pump? I already have the correct timing cover that was NOT on the engine when it came to me.
Thanks For The Help,
Gene

Don't know what that is....but you have to have a fuel pump eccentric that bolts there, just an offcentered circle really to work the fuel pump lever . Sorry I don't have any part numbers, but you can hit summit up, they have them on there. You may also want to check with your timing chain manufacturer, I have heard that some sets require a 2 piece eccentric...not sure about that though.

Here is a link to what summit has, they have one for 7/16 bolts too, this one is for 3/8's...I think all you need is this part and your fuel pump, and your proper timing cover. (I don't think ford has a pushrod to actuate the lever like chevy does)
