ive been working through issues with my car. A lot of you helped out with my thread about my day at the track where my best run was a 14.2@101 with a 2.35 60' time. In my combo i still had 19lb injectors and a stock fuel pump. Most of you suggested i was probably running lean so i installed a 255lph fuel pump and bumped with fp up to 44psi. After doing this i adjusted my timing to 18* base (i have heard this is where the TW like it).
After doing all this my cars low end felt like a beast compared to before breaking loose the 315's easily midway through firstatfirst then into 2nd.

Well earlier tonight i raced my friends in a bone stock 01 z28 ls1 auto. We went from a 35mph roll and he put a car on me and it stayed that way till 85. I had no pinging or surging or anything like that.
Im getting very frusterated now. Is it the 19lb injectors still killing me? Or is the e cam to small for the trackheat? I would think my combo with all my mods should be trapping 107-108 easy. I would guess that ls1 traps 103-104.
Any other ideas??

Good Lord, 19# injectors with that setup? I'd step up to at least 24# (possibly consider 30#) and get a decent dyno tune to dial in the FP.

And those short times aren't helping you either.

That LS1 is faster than you think. Get a set of 24lb injectors and set your fuel pressure at 39psi. It should help out with your combo. Don't forget you'll need a mass air meter calibrated for those injectors.

i have a pro-m 75mm maf. Do i have to send it back to them to get it recalibrated?
I also just got back from the track, a 13.9@101 with a 2.1 60'. My low end was killer it just seemed to run out of steam in 3rd and 4th.

thats prolly because its starving on fuel and if u do that and its lean u could blow something , especially if u spin it real high

That's entirely due to your 60'. You dropped .25 off of the short time and consequently dropped the same amount from your et.

The very next place I would go is a dyno with a wideband. You need to get a handle on what's happening, trapping 101 with your mods is not right at all.

Blink

You ran him from a roll which you never want to do if he has more cubes than you.

When the other guy has more cubes you have to smoke him right off the bat and even if you do, if you give him enough time, he will catch and pass you.

so i guess the next step before i go to the dyno is to get some injectors and a maf. Would the 30's be to much or would the 24's be plenty.

In terms of flow, the 24's would be fine. And they're slightly cheaper. However, I've heard it said that the 30's are easier for the EEC to deal with when you're using a "calibrated" MAF (not an issue if you get a tuning device). I can't back that up with hard data, though. I'm using 30's, they certainly don't cause any harm. I wanted some room for growth.

I pretty much have the same set-up (AFR 165) and I run 24#er and calibrated MAF, Had to get a Autologic chip to make every thing run right
A/F ratio at 12.9 and puting 300 rwhp and 325 rwhp with BT at 10 degrees

Good Luck
