well i posted about a week ago saying my 2nd gear synchros were out and now tonight I took it out for a ride and first gear is sort of making a klunking noise and whining pretty bad. I just put the rebuilt t-5 in 4 months ago and idk whats wrong with it now. I just checked the fluid in it and its full so I really dont know what is making the synchros go bad in 2nd and what ever is wrong in first gear. any ideas? thanks guys

what oil do you have in the tranny? oil can cause premature failure when it comes to syncro's. My bro inlaws trucks tranny was completely rebuilt and the wrong oil was installed by the shop and after 1 drive syncro's went.

That's wrong. WC T5s (like 1985+) should have ATF.

Your tranny is probably hosed

http://www.moderndriveline.com/Technical_Bits/t5_history.htm

1985, Ford introduced the World Class T-5

One last piece of important information. ALL World Class T-5 use ATF oil and NOT heavy gear oil or Redline MTL! All NON-World Class T-5 use 70 wt gear oil.

Worth a shot, ATF is cheap. The damage might already be done though?
