To the Delorean comments.. Yes, i guess you could say they are attainable. SSeater, You are right that company is around today, BUT you guys are way off on the price. Decent Deloreans sell for mid 40's low 50's. Thus unattaibable.. http://delorean.com/for-sale/

I ALMOST pulled the trigger on a '67 Fairlane 500 a few months before I bought my notch. Original 289/4 spd for $2500. Hindsight - shoulda gone for the classic.

I've owned two mid 60's Fairlanes. ( One was a Cyclone). Neither of them were worth dreaming about.( But that Galaxy is Very Cool.) They were nice enough cars alright, But the interiors were boring, they handled like junk, they stopped equally bogus (Drums on the 'Lane) Disc/drum on the Cyclone.
It's probably been said here earlier, but so many "dream cars" become not so dreamy after reality sets in. Part of what makes a car fun to own (for me at least) is how nice it is to drive. Some of the 60's dream cars pictured above would be a disapointment to drive after owning and referencing the experience against the Mustang we all own.
I'm sure many of us have the Fox and the DD beater. If that DD is truly deserving of "beater" status, and has worn out suspension, A/C that doesn't work, Is a pig to get going and to try and stop, then you already know what it's like to actually own a mid sixties, mid size 289/2bbl/single exhaust/drum/drum Fairlane 500. Put an FE under the hood, and the Go part is better, but going around the corner, (while sliding all over that mile wide "bucket" seat) and stopping still sucked ass.
Go down to the Classic forum. After they get done fixing all of the rusted crap that comes w/ a 50+ a year old car, Most upgrade just about everything about the cars except the skin.
HMMMMM Now there's a thought...... Wonder if there was a way to build a fox w/ a 60's feel, but still retain all of the current technology that makes it go, handle, and stop.
