What kind of Camshaft should I get?

So my timing belt on my 2V 351C is about to blow out and I figure that this is a sign from the muscle car god to tell me to sack up and buy that new cam already. Problem is, I dont know much about them... As an exhaust, I am going to run headman headers connected to cherry bomb glasspacks that have a pipe that exits right before the tires on each side. I'm not sure if thats important but some of the cams on Summit say "best for use with a full length exhaust". So what kind of cam should I buy. I dont want to spend over $150 bucks on it (I know I'm cheap but no one is willing to hire an 18 year old kid right now). What cam do you think I should get and why?

Why do you think you need a new timing gear set?

If you change the cam, you will need to do some other stuff to make sure you get the full value of the swap.

If you don't have a lot of money for a lot of goodies, I'd say stick with something less than a .500 lift intake and exhaust.

You will need to upgrade to a 4V intake and carb as well, probably a 650 Holley. Any of the above will provide noticeable gains,
with out requireing a new torque converter, new rear gears, etc.....

Here's one that'll work with what you've got now: Summit K-5200. I ran this one in a 400M with the stock 2 bbl intake, Holley 500 cfm 2 bbl carb and full length headers. Awesome bottom end and killer midrange. Great throttle response. It's compatible with the rest of the stock valvetrain, no mods needed there.

So I minor update, I left out the fact that O have a 4BBL Holley 600cfm carb, and an edelbrock performer manifold. I would eventually like to upgrade all of that stuff...torque converter, rear end, ect. This is just one step in that process. Usually as soon as the money comes in it goes right back out for parts. Now I've got a set of headers lying around cause I can't afford to have the pipes made up for me, and I need to install this cam...If only money grew on trees....

That cam will still work with the 4 bbl carb and intake.
