Well I think I broke the clutch in my car again. I have tried a couple of different brands. I have used a spec stage 3 and a couple of centerforce DF. I am looking for something that is still streetable but will hold up at the strip. I have a 94 Cobra and it cuts 1.53 60fts and weights around 3500lbs with me in it at the track and it makes aprox 410 rwhp.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what to try next or what NOT to try?

I have always liked the Zoom Kevlar for that type of clutch.

Thats a lot of weight to throw over the 60 in only a second and a half. Really, this is the reason so many start switching to autos. It is going to be hard to find a clutch that is going to handle all that and still have decent street mannors. As far as price, your probally going to have to go off the deep end and buy a hight dallar one like some of these dual or multi plate systems.

Yeah well I really don't want to try and switch to the auto if I can help it. Got any suggestions on a type of multi-plate?

well I took it apart to examine what happened and why the clutch wasn't dis-enguaging. The disc was stuck to the pressure plate and the flywheel. I had to pop it off the flywheel with a bar. When this happened I was racing at the track and had made 7 passes in about 7 hours ( I think we have the slowest run track in the world) The previous pass had to have been atleast a half hour before. I put my car in the water and forgot to turn my line lock on so when it shot out of the water I pushed in the clutch and put on the breaks. After that the clutch wouldn't dis-enguage.

Does anybody have a better idea of what caused this thing to sieze. If I had been hot lapping I could see it being a heat issue, but the car had plenty of time to cool down.

Get the blueprinted FMS HD pressure plate kit. This is the clutch kit I run. The press plate is modified to handle lots of power and high rpm's. I know killercanary on here runs the same pressure plate but with a slightly different disk. The clutch is fairly soft too. Its about the same or slightly softer than the standard king cobra I used to have.
