I just bought a indy red 90 GT, with a lot of rust, to swap tranny and V8 into my 79 2.3t. 
The GT runs and drives really great !
But it's a carbed engine ?
I wasn't really worried about it, I just thought the swap would be a lot easyer if it's a carbed motor.
But now I'm not so sure if it's a 5.0 ...
The head intake reads E3AE, so it's a '83 intake, but not from a mustang : the 3rd digit, A, should be a Z if it's really a mustang intake ?
There is also a casting number near the bell housing, the first two digits are barely readable, FH it begins with I think.
The engine sure does need some cleaning before I can read all the numbers.
What do I need to check to make sure it's a 5.0, or how can I verify what kind of engine I just bought ?
