try2catchmy99, how many miles are on your transmission?

I am running Redline D4 ATF but I was told that Tremec recommends a non-synthetic lubricant. I haven't noticed any problems and it shifts a little better than with the stock mobile 1 atf. I'd consider looking into what Tremec recommends for your transmission. Next time i'm going with a non synthetic

Tremec recommends Havoline. If you can't find that, my Ford dealer actually recommended GM Syncromesh! I have that in my car and it works fine, even through cold Chicago winters.

I used redline d4 atf it seems ok. But in my other car (though fwd), what seemed to work awesome was valvoline maxlife and lucas oil stabilizer. Shifted alot smoother and was alot quieter. I'm going to change the redline out for that in a year or so lol. Redline is so much. Cost me 40 bucks to change my tranny fluid.

Amsoil, Mobil 1, Redline, or Royal Purple

I just asked the same question, but I did do a little Google research first. I found T5WC, T45, and T56 transmissions work best with GM Syncromesh approved 5W-30 MTL oil is best, but from who? Amsoil, Mobil 1, Redline, or Royal Purple. They all look like good products. At this point I am leaning toward Amsoil MTL, than Redline MTL. Most of the test data I found say Amsoil, but many long time transmission builders like hanlon motorsports push Redline MTL.

I used synthetic Mobil 1 ATF for my t-45 based on what people said here.

My ford tech also recomends GM fluid for tremecs. They used it when they replaced my synchros - works great so far.

I've been using Amsoil ATF for a while now and am also a Direct Dealer. I think the main reason you might not see Amsoil often in the performance shops with Redline or Royal Purple is because Amsoil's main focus is to market to the general public, versus the performance market which is considered more of a "specialty" area. This does not mean they cannot compete in quality, but from a business stand point, they would rather shoot for the larger audience of everyday drivers who might buy rather than the smaller amount of performance drivers who might.

Those of us who do work with the performance market have often asked if we could have something comparing Amsoil to the other "performance" brands that are popular. We can get some of the material from them, but in general they won't show the results in their public literature to avoid drawing attention to brands that the everyday person might not know of. Why recognize a generally small company as competition and prompt the customer to ask "who are they?" They want to show comparisons to common products that they would probably pick up at their local parts store. For us, and for the performance shops that might be doing rebuilds, modifications, etc., these "speciality fluids" like Redline and RP are everyday names. These companies aim towards these markets heavily so they are well known there. I remember about 5-6 years ago, no one had ever heard of Royal Purple, but they have promoted themselves a lot in the performance community and are now a common name. But ask the common driver heading to work everyday and taking the family cross country to Disney, and they will most likely never have heard of them or these other names.

How do I become a Amsoil vendor? I just rebuilt a t5 and working on a t45. I will try a t56 soon as I find one. I am very interested in Amsoil MTL 5w-30.

I'm an Amsoil dealer also. I love all of Amsoil's products. I also use their products in my dirtbike. I also sponsor a street stock racecar and he loves the racing products. He told me his engine builder recommends Amsoil products. Good stuff, American Company, owned by an Air Force Veteran.

Mobil 1 atf for over 40k mile and 2.5 years at or over 381rwhp. I'm also running a tr3650 instead of the stock t45.
