I take it you're still concerned with retaining your factory warranty? If so, this would be a decent start....

If you want to get serious, look into one of the FRPP supercharger kits. They range anywhere from 400-550hp.

damn thats a bit pricy. i was thinking more like an intake from c&l with no tune or the airraid mxp intake which requires no tunning as well. and a axleback system too.

Any cold air intake kit on these cars will require a tune.

Actually C&L has a no tune version that can be simply upgraded at a later date with a tuner by simply removing the insert. Also the Roush intake does not require a tune and is only $199.

The reason some of these "user friendly" intakes don't require a tune, is because they quite frankly aren't supplying a whole lot of additional airflow over stock. If you're going to make a mod like that, wouldn't you want to make sure it was doing its job? If you can't aford an intake and tune, then save up until you can. Don't waste your money doing it twice when you could have done it right the first time.

I would say get a good sounding exhaust you like and then save for a FRPP supercharger if you want to maintain your warranty.

4.10 gears
CAI WITH Tune
longtubes, mids, and catback

That should be close to $2500 including labor to install. You wont be disappointed.

JLT CAI AND TUNER/TUNE SHOULD BE 1ST... DO NOT BUY ANY INTAKE FOR THE S197 CARS THAT DOES NOT REQUIRE A TUNE, THAT MEANS THE INTAKE ACTUALLY ISNT MAKING ENOUGH OF A CHANGE IN AIR COMING INTO THE MOTOR FOR THE CAR TO EVEN NEED TO CHANGE ANYTHING, AKA, ITS DOING NEXT TO NOTHING!! KEY IS GETTING A COLD AIR THAT IS NOT MADE OF HEATSINK PRONE METAL, AND THAT DOES REQUIRE A TUNE, AKA, IT'S REALLY GIVING THE CAR MORE AIR, AND A TUNE IS REQUIRED, YOU CAN GAIN AS MUCH AS 30 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER WITH A GOOD CAI AND EVENA GOOD MAIL ORDER TUNE!! FYI - WHEN THE S197 FIRST CAME OUT, THE JLT TRUE COLD AIR INTAKE WON ALMOST ALL COMPAROS DONE BY THE MAGS... AND, sorry about the caps, i just looked up and seen my whole post in caps..lol
