I am starting to show my car now and I got alot of people asking what number my car is and how many of this style and color were made. I see alot of people posting the number of their car off the production line and such. Not just Saleen's and Cobra's but GT's as well. The sticker on the inside of my door is trashed so I can't use that for anything really. Is there some website where you can run you VIN to find out?

Thanks

Anyone who #'s a late model vehicle that isn't considered a collectors' edition, is just trying to compensate for being slow :D

Actually, I think it's kind of neat to know when you car came off the line and how many there are like ours.

I happen to think people that have negative things to say in 80 percent of their posts are REALLY trying to compensate for something. Shall we count how many of yours are negative? I can think of at least 5 from just today. :rlaugh:

While it may be possible to tabulate how many of a certain type (convertible, coupe, color, etc.) of Mustang was produced in a specific year, it is virtually impossible to determine when your car came off the line. This is because Ford builds cars out of order. We went through this with our Mach 1's, turns out that higher VIN numbered cars were built before lower numbered cars. They used to keep track of the build sequence of Cobras, but have since stopped that also. I believe the last Mustangs to be sequentially numbered were the 2001 Bullitts and Cobras.

Not completely. You do have the build date that's on the door tag. It's not specific, but you can tell which month it was built in the year.

Congratulations Captain Obvious, I've been on a negative streak as of late, your point is? I ain't tryin to compensate for ****, just trying to rib a few people (the post in this thread was a joke, mainly because I didn't know how to help him out) and the other thread was to keep people in check. If you think I'm tryin to compensate, let me finish my car (got the parts, just gotta find a few more and install) and we can race :hail2:

Exactly! :nice: But that's a far cry from being able to say that your car is number 3,256 of 9,600 cars built in 2003. For example, I know that my Mach 1 was built on 11/08/2002, but I have no idea, nor can I ever find out, what number Mach 1 it was for Model Year 2003, out of the 9,000 or so that were built.
