what oil for my 94 cobra?

hey ima change the oil in my car, just wondering what use guys recommend for synthetics, i drive my car very hard(race it) and i put alot of miles on, what do you recommend? royal purple, lucas? castrol? btw my car is basically stock.

Rotella T is high in zinc. Its good for breaking in engines but is intended for trucking. I personally do not think that high mileage engines that already have leaks should have synthetics being placed in them. The oil will leak right out around seals. If you think you HAVE to use synthetics then at least settle for a blend. Motorcraft (Conoco Phillips) has a blend. Sure all the high dollar stuff is out there, but nothing beats a good quart of Valvoline 5W-30 in my opinion. I stay away from Quaker State.........

I used to use Mobile 1, after the 331 build I switched to Royal Purple 10W30. I have Royal Purple in the trans and rearend. I've had no issues with it. The car sits most of the time, 2,800 miles in last 3 yrs... it's like $8-9 a quart though.

I use mobil 1 dino oil.. I switched my first mustang to synthetics and it started smoking and had nothing but problems, plus vortech doesn't suggest synthetic anyway..

I'm going to mark you on my never buy that car list, lol... jk

I used plain old GTX in the mustang... never burned a drop.... 230k on the car still looks new when you pop the valve covers.... I use motorcraft blend in the focus.... had good results with that as well

Whenever I go into Walmart either the Mobil 1 or the Castrol Synthetic 5 qt bottle is on sale. So I just buy whichever one is on sale. As long as it's synthetic, they are all about the same.

exactly.... lol in my probe..... quakerstate and pennzoil gummed up the engine so bad.... switched to the gtx.... and it cleaned it out so nicely

Not sure what your experience is, but Castrol doesn't make conventional oil. GTX is made by the lowest bidder. There's a good chance Penzoil made your GTX.
