i spray it down with simple green and let it sit for 10 minutes. I only take the air filter off my intake and cover the inlet with a plastic bag and try not to spray the alternator directly with the hose or simple green. Then, spray off with a hose. After it drys, I spray the engine bay down with tire foam and it looks beautiful

I use Armor All's Cleaning wipes. Work pretty well! I'm always a little hesitant to spray water or cleaners around electrical wires/parts!

Well... when it rains I do know a little bit of rain gets on the belt and surrounding areas but its not like opening the hood and directly spraying water/chemicals around the fuel injectors/ecu/ ect. Just my opinion....

This is off topic, but I would like to know what size or number Optima you got to fit in there?

My Optima battery is a Redtop 75/35. It took a custom part (more like a piece of square steel) with a bolt to make it stay on.

Can you really spray the engine bay with tire foam? like the same foam that gives you a "wet tire" look? what brand do you use?
