What rear gears for a EFI 393ci with a T56

Depends on where your redline is set; how high can this engine revv?

I would say 3.55's would be plenty with all that low end torque. But it depends on what you expect to trap at. Then gear accordingly.

it has a keith craft 393 strocker, forged rods, forged pistons, forged crank,all arp bolts,. Victor jr heads, victor 5.8EFI intake, complete aeromotive fuel system, 42lb injectors,fuel rails, fuel pressure regulator, custom ground cam,80mm mass air, 75mm throttle body, 13/4 long tube headers, the motor was tuned by delk performance in tennessee, and they also made a custom made chip for the car, the motor has 3000 miles on it and there is nothing at all wrong with it. The motor has exactly 10:1 compression and i run it on pump gas. It idles and runs perfectly.

I am looking at buying this car but it has a T-5 and I wanted a T-56. The gears are 3.27 now but I was wondering if they are to high.

Id stay with the 3.27 just for the hell of it. If you ever add a power adder to that motor you going to have serious traction issues. Not that you probably wont already. But if its a stictly track car then go with a tall tire and 3.73's

You would usually say 327's are not enough but with all of those cubic inches & torque I think I would drive it as it is to get an idea of things.

I agree with Jake and the 355's but heck, if you went to them the difference is only 1/4 of a turn and you won't notice much different.

If you do buy the car and put the t-56 in take it to the track and make a few passes. then if you have plenty of rpm's left try 3.55, make a pass and see if you are clear from redlining the engine.
