what should a port/polish job on cylinder heads and intake run?

keeping in mind that these parts are on the car and the guy doing the job would have to remove, perform the work, and then reassemble. If anyone who knows would be so kind as to share this info with me I would appreciate it.

Sorry, can't give you any specific dollar amounts, BUT, one of my co-workers had a valve job done similar to what you're asking and he paid more than I paid for a complete engine overhaul with all labor involved! You just have to shop around in the area where you want the work done.

Probably close to what you would pay for aftermarket heads.

It depends how well and who.

Mine ran about 1,200. For a set of vic jr heads. But they have have gone 9.0@155 .

$600-$2500 depending on how much work you have done and how generous the person doing the work is.

You can get a set of used aluminum heads for about $800 if you shop around.

Thanks for the replies so far. What kind of gains might one expect from having heads polished and ported? I have some Edelbrock RPM Performers and a RPM Air Gap intake that my source proposes doing.

It's all proportianal to your set up exactly how much you will gain.

If it's not all properly matched too much port will actually hurt performance.
