Okay i haven't done any work on my car in 2 years and i was thinking about trying something new this spring. Mind you i live in illinois so i see snow and drive my car year round (rain, snow, earthquake, whatever). My mods are in my signature but in case you are to lazy to look i have full SLP exhaust, CAI, 75mm TB and upper plenum, i also rebuilt my transmission to handle more abuse. Everything else is stock on the car. Its never been tuned or programmed or dynoed. I am the sort of guy who is more impressed by the sound of a car than the numbers it can lay down on a dyno. So was thinking about going with cams. I also thought about a bigger rear gear. Hears the thing...I stopped where i did because other than the rear gear anything else i do to the car is gonna be big money(a grand or more).

I also know that when you install certain mods you are required to beef up other things to supplement that mod.

Basically i am out of the modding loop and would like to get back in with going broke. I have a few freinds that work on cars but i doubt they will want to do installs for me. As long as i can keep the mod and install under 2k i will consider it.

What ideas do you have for me?

GEARS.

FRPP 4.10 gears and install should be about $400-500. To correct the speedometer, you can go cheap and get a speedcal for about $100, but the better way to go would be to get a SCT Xcal2 for about $400.

Now i don't want to turn this into a pissing match but why 4.10s instead of 3.73s?

Is it because its an Auto? I have heard of a lot of people with Autos going with 4.10s.
