Hey guys,

My shift knob/shifter assembly has always been making a lot of noise and finally I got fed up with it and took it apart to see how this was installed in the first place.

Before I take it over to a machinist, what can I do here? It's currently held by set screws that are obviously not getting the job done.

In the interim I have replaced it with an SVO hurst shift handle and knob and what a difference in shift quality and feel.

Thanks,
Eric

It's an old school Momo shift knob and it's a nice one, but is not threaded at all and relies on that sleeve to make up for the difference of the I.D. of the knob and the O.D. of the shift handle.

I agree, if I can't make this work easily, then it's simply not worth it.
