Looking at putting together a stock shortblock combo. I have already settled on some Explorer heads and intake (hoping to find them at the JY) and have BBK shortys, C&L mass air w/pipe, MSD 6AL, stock T-5 and some 3.73s. i havent decided on a cam, may go with a summit cam, but have been looking at an alhabet cam. I know some others have a similar setup, so what should I expect for HP. Any advice or recs for the bang for the buck (definitely on the cam) let me know.

Yeah I'd say between 260- 270. I have a gt 40 p setup, with some lean issues and I got 252 hp at the wheels.. So after I figure out the lean problem I expect a couple more out of it. 290-305. Not gonna happen unless you do work to the heads..

260 maybe...forget shortys you might as well keep the stock manifolds...long tubes for real gains....and stage 2 cams if you are gonna cam anyways...poor man pays twice remember....just my 2 cents

The same car is running 311 to the rear wheels right now with a 306, some AFRs and an Edy intake. I plan on popping that motor out and using (until I can build my dart based motor) in my other car. Unfortunately tthe cars just so nice that I dont wont to just drop a completely stock motor in it. So if I can get close to 300 at the wheels, definitely wont hurt mu feelings.

-On another note..I picked up some GT40ps today. Was looking for some straight 40s, but no luck. Then again, for $87.00 I will utilize the hammer adjustment method on the shorties i have. I believe their BBK and pulled another forum with some snaps of the clearance. I can manage it for the price. Just need my intake and cam. Hopefully the two undrained exploders on the yard have V8s.
