What Size Combution Chamber On Aluminum Heads?

still trying to put together my combo and get everything set up. I am not sure if i should get heads with a 58cc chamber for more compression or a biger 64cc chamber for better air flow and higher lift cam. car has a stock bottom end
Any opinions?

With the TFS heads, 64cc gets my vote.

I would think 58's for the compression if he's going to run the stock short block

Yeah I was thinking 64's will lower compression too much..

What are you going to do with the car? Is it going to be a daily driver what? We need more info on what you are wanting to do with it.

going to be weekend hot street car. Not a daily driver. i want it to be street able though, and i am planning to stay n/a but i might add a 100 shot down the road in a few years. going to get custom cam and a holley sytemax2 intake. Planning to spin it to around 6500 rpm

Then I would personaly go with the higher combustion chamber. Its free power.

will the 58cc chamber restrict my camshaft profile and head airflow?

The 58cc chamber will limited cam profile even with the twisted valves due to PTV clearance. The stock heads are around 64cc anyway so you will not really be losing an compression... While Im usually all for compression I like the 64cc, a more aggressive cam (duration) for this combo. I saw in a earlier thread you mentioned a stroker down the road, personally I like the 64cc CNC TFS heads on a 347 witha 4cc flattop, put you right at 10:1 perfect for pump gas and will run great NA and N2O.

To spin the motor 6500rpm you will need some type of chip or tuner since the factory EEC shuts fuel off at 6250rpm. The key is what are the future plans with the combo and car.

It varies. I've seen them measure as much as 65cc.

His compression would be approximatley the same as it is now with the stock heads.

Man you guys crack me up. Anything you do meaning in chamber size changes, does change your compression ratio. Sometimes i read these post and hust wonder where you guys come up with some of this stuff. Even doing all the math taking in to account piaton compression height, combustion chamber , deck height etc. All this effects things. Going from a 58 cc head to a 64 cc head will lower compression.

Yea but if stock heads are roughly 64cc and the trick flows are 64cc... Guess what smart guy! The compression is the same! No one argued the fact that the compression for the 58s and 64s would be the same

will a msd 6al with rev control let me spin it that high?

No, the factory EEC will still cut fuel. You need to tune the EEC to raise its rev limiter.
