So I watched my buddy's mustang get tuned last weekend (95 GT with a 408 and a procharger). He had a 10 psi pulley on it, and at redline, he was making 8psi. We live at 7,200 feet of altitude, which explains the decreased boost. I have the Vortech V2-SQ waiting to be installed on my GT, and I got to thinking, maybe I should get a smaller pulley to make up for the decreased boost due to altitude. Based on his dyno run, he lost about 2 psi. The vortech comes with the 3.60, which is supposed to make 7-9. The vortech website offers different pulleys, and they say that each size smaller increases boost 1-2 psi. Which one do you guys think is safe for me to get? The 3.48? 3.40? I'm basically trying to make up for the altitude difference and get close to 400hp at the crank, without blowing the motor up. When I graduate, and move back to somewhere close to sealevel, I'll swap back to the original pulley.

I fantasize about it being BIG!

If you don't already have a boost pipe, get one. that alone will net you another 1-2psi. I have the MPH boost pipe and i've only heard good things about the Anderson boost pipe. you want a 4" pipe if you are going to use a 90mm MAF on your car. if you still want a pulley, i'd go with the 3.40". you can always lower the horsepower with the timing if the car makes too much. and if that's the case, the smaller pulley will give you better mid-range power.

Depending on what size injectors and fuel pump you have, I'd go with a 3.33 pulley and a power pipe
