Yeah I know these are talked about alot.

Im going to be getting some black sc wheels at the end of the month, im getting 17x10 in the rear but i dont know what to run in the front. I like the 17x9s because they have a lip unlike the 17x8s which the spokes are almost flush with the edge of the rim. But i want to make sure the 17x9s wont have any problems up front?

Heres an idea what its

You will be fine. I have 17X8's with 245-45's on the front of my 81. The 81 does not come with the lower fender extension, but I put on the 86-90 fender extensions on, and there is no fender rub. I put my 17X9 Cobra R's with Nitto 275-40's and there is not rub on the fender either.

I didn't check rubbing at the K framem but I assume both might rub. I won't know til I drive it. Now, I do know that my 91 notch with 5 lug conv. and 17X8 Cobra wheels, rub on the K-frame under a full turn.

Im going to go with 17x9s up front.

Fuzion, how do your 255/45 tires fit, do you have any rubbing problems?

Im thinking about going with a 255/45 instead of a 245/45 but i want to make sure i wont have any problems first.

Im also thinking about running a 285/40 out back, is any one running that? do you have any problems with them? Did you have to do any modifications? Otherwise I think im going to run a 275/40

I just want to double check, I'm going to be ordering some 17x9s for the front and I want to make sure I shouldn't have any problems, besides maybe rubbing on the control arms at full lock, which I rarely do. I'm going to running them with a 255/45 tire.

There a guy on corral that has 17x9s with 255s and no problems but hes 5 lug with an offset of +24mm, and the 4 lug has a +20mm offset, does 4mm make much of a difference, I don't know anything about offset.

There NO WAY I would go with the 9's on the front. I had some "95R's" on the front of my 88 GT and said that I would never do it again. 8's are PLENTY and fit much nicer IMO.

A friend of mine just put the 9's on the front of his coupe and they stuck out. :notnice: He had to get the car re-aligned with the tires toed in to help it come in a little. It still doesn't look right IMO.

my 9" wide rims fit perfectly in my wheel well, just barely inside the fender lip. your friend must have gotten some crazy offset or have 96+ spindles or something. granted, mine do rub the front extension at extreme turns, but most do not have this problem (i actually wonder if my k-member is off from the wreck i had last year, but thats off topic)

the 9's should fit fine espically since your leaving the stock track alone and not switching spindles. a 255 will look just right on there too imo, any bigger though and you'll be asking for problems.

I just ordered them in 17x9 and 17x10 in black, I cant wait to get them! I also got some 255/40 Goodyear Eagle F1s for cheap for the front. Now all i have to do is find some 285/40s for cheap for the rear. Ill post pics when I get everything.
