What sound's a bad balancer make

Hey guys...something on the front of my car's chirping, and something else (sounds like fromt he bottom end) is knocking. I believe the chirping may be my altenator...but to me it sounds like the knocking goes away at times, but I may just be crazy. So that led me to wonder what a bad balancer sounds like. Maybe its days are numbered? I was hoping it'd hold on til the end of this year when I can give it some new beans.

They don't make any noise(at least mine didn't) they do how ever transmit a bad vibration. Just look at the balancer and see if the rubber is seperating from the balancer.

Wait now that I remember it did make a loud clacking sound when I put my u/d pulleys on and that's how I figured out my balancer was bad.

Mine also made noise. The crank pulley was hitting the water pump pulley and made a chirping sound. Try taking the belt off and listen for the sound. Dont let it run too long (more than a minute or so) without the waterpump turning or it will get hot fast.
