what speedo gear for 373s?

The white 23 is the closest you can get w/o changing the driven gear in the trans. You will still be off by 5%, but it's a heck of a lot closer.

I just got used to remembering that when I looked at my speedo and subtracted 5% off of the speedo and that was my actual speed.

It's the "small" speedo gear, and you should go to a chrysler/mopar/dodge dealership to get it, cheapest route besides the internet, which I think 50resto has it too, if you can wait. Ford actually buys it from them for some reason

ive heard that a 21 tooth for the speedometer drven cable and a 7 tooth drive gear in the tranny would do it?

and you guys are telling me a 23 tooth gear for the speedo cable? which is it?? is a 21 and 7 gear gonna be dead on accurate? which one is more accurate?

The 23 tooth (white) gear is a Jeep part and can be baught from the dealer. To fix the 5% difference, I pulled the speedo needle out on my old cluster and popped it back on while pacing my friend at 60 mph.

Have the parts guy pull some speedo gears for the jeep. It should be white and have 23 teeth on it. Bring in your old one to match up the dimensions.
