I think they're pretty fast. However your mach has stock 305? STi something around 290-300 max (their ratings constantly change - apparently due to the self tuning it does). Your mach should "handle" them.

But you can't beat this: Midpipe + Catback + Off the shelf tuner = 50 actual, guaranteed horsepower. FIFTY.

You can't beat it's handling. Suspension tech wise it's simply in another playing field than a Mustang.

Sorry I say all this because I have both a GT and an 06 STi. STi with the mods stated above, and it absolutely owns. Off the line is sweet, a straight line is pretty sweet, around the corners going as fast as you want is unrivaled.

Oh yeah. We wrote a letter to the DOT to section off certain segments of curvy and straight roads to conduct all these tests. I have copies available upon request to avoid lockdown of this thread

my favorite was a wrx wagon that was fairly heavily modded...prolly 25 pounds+ of boost....he was like "you think your GT with a hood scoop can hang"....

I gotta say I don't really like the WRX's because they are a weak bottom end and a weaker still transmission. 280 at the crank is the somewhat accepted safe "limit" for WRX's before something breaks in the tranny or engine. That figure is something like the 400 rwhp "limit" for a regular GT.

But STi's <3

Subaru Technica International

and im pretty sure that if you raced one with a good driver in the 1/4 that you would be playing catch up the whole way... there was a guy local to me that had an 04 STi with Vishnu Stage 2 and it was running 8.20's pretty consistant and was actaully traction limited, i watched him leave the line a few times and the backend actually kicked out to the side...

dont get too cocky, there is always someone faster, and with that said... i drive a slow bolton GT.

Subaru's are fast...til you hit 11 seconds. There are like 25 Subaru's(registered) in the US that go 11.5 or less, something like that.

STIs (older onles are STi) are not made for drag racing, they're made for handling turns.

220 isnt bad, thats to all 4 wheels.

They dont have too too much more crank HP than us and we put down around 230-235 for most stock 5 speed PI cars, autos a little less.

STi's are fast, there are several in my area that are modded very well and I would never think of seriously running with them and winning untill I sink a few grand into my boat.

ive only run a 13.8 at the track, but i suck at driving at the tack for some weird reason....most good drivers run 13.0-13.2 with their machs...stock. im a much better launch on the street. i always get nervous at the track cuz i feel it counts with the slips.
