What STi stands for....for mustang guys

theyre nice, hard as hell to mod. adding boost isnt as easy as most cars, the ecu gets pissed if you try to go around it to control the boost, things like that have to be disabled in the tune, etc. buddy has a 06 wrx with a 20g turbo and all the support and that thing flies, put down 280 to the wheels on a mustang dyno (didnt know of any awd mustang, but apparently they make awd mustang dyno's) so its a little lower than it really puts down but its loaded more for tuning purposes.

id rather have a evo. just as good in the curves, and even better on the straight. easier to mod, cheaper, and the 4g63 is by far one of the greatest 4cyl motors created, can handle upwards of 30psi and untouched has handled 500whp, and ive seen more with simple things like arp studs/metal head gasket. IMO as far as styling goes, its a little boyish, but im liking the new Evo's more and more, if the new motor proves just as worthy as the 4g63, it might be put higher on the "cars i want to buy if i can buy brand new" list than the probably-overpriced Camaro and Challengers will.

I work at a Subaru dealership, and I drive them frequently. I think they are a nice car and I have a lot more respect for them than I did before I started working there, but it just is no where near as fun to drive as my Mustangs are, especially my GT.

and for those of you who think they are that fast...the mach has handled several of them very nicely...hehe

....until we went in any other direction than strait ahead. Then the STi rapped me over and over again!!! ;)
....most good drivers run 13.0-13.2 with their machs...stock.

Really....I have yet to see that. :bs:

Yea man, the average driver doesnt run a 13.0 at all in a Mach1 man. Lets be serious here. The STi is a badass car and from a dig (if the STI dumps the clutch from a high rpm), you'll play catch-up for a bit. Add a few mods to the Mach and its a different story and from a roll the Mach1 has an advantage as well.

BTW, 13.8 with a Mach1 at the track? Ouch, means my GT wouldve beat you when it was bone stock

well...i dont think thats too bad for only having been down the track 6 times in my entire life. that being said...ive beat two sti's

plus, i dunno if my transmission is having anything to do with my times or not...youd think it was a sewing factory in my car...you can hear it clanking and crap over my exhaust AND radio...dealer tells me its "normal"...pfft

head on over to mach1registry.com...several guys have 13.1-13.2 time slips

heres a few magazines too

Evan Smith--MM/FF Mar03 (NJ) Gray-- 5spd--- 2.07, 13.135 @ 105.51
Paul Svinicki--5.0/SF Apr03 (MI) Black- 5spd--- n / a, 13.29_ @ 105.13

2 or 3 guys with a tune and dr's have gone 12.8's

Okay, if you have to quote Evan Smith's times, its not even fair. He's better than 99.9% of Mustang drivers out there and its like me taking his 13.68@101 Mustang GT run and saying my car runs 13.6's stock. If he runs a 13.13 that means the average driver is running 13.4 or so.

BTW, 6 times is alot to still be running a 13.8. Not busting your balls or anything, but maybe let a buddy drive and see what the car can do

ALL 4 banger exhausts sound like chit therefore I will never own one regardless of how much power they make. They still sound like a wet fart or bumblebee on steroids.

(exception: motorcycles)

V6s and V8s FTMFW!!!:nice:

A Boxer engine sounds pretty damn cool actually. And FWIW, a V6 mustang with exhaust sounds like a wet fart, not a Subaru
