Hey guys, i switched my stang from efi to carb and i was wondering what timing i should run at and possibly how much hp i have,, here are my mods
14 inch air filter,, 410 gears, f303 cam,, holley 600 carb, edelbrock torker 2 intake, fuel pressure set at 6lbs. msd 6al, msd blaster coil, motorsport wires, h-pipe with flows dumped, and its a 5 speed.... any help on this would be cool
heads and stock,, i want to get it dynoed but i figured i would just ask everyone in here what they think!!!
by the way,, i ran it at about 14 degrees when it was efi ,, thanks in advance.

advance the dizzy until the car acts like it will not turn over while cranking. then ease it back the other direction until the car cranks normally. do this with the vacuum unkooked too. this is what a ford tech/collector said and it works.

If it were mine, I'd do away with the vacuum advance first. Then I'd set the initial timing in the 14-16 btdc range, and change the springs/weights so that you're seeing total advance of around 32-34 degrees all in by about 2800-3000 rpm. If detonation won't let you run that, back off a few degrees.

Don't know how much power - but you're sure hurting for something other than the stock heads with all the rest of that gear...

Another thing that will make a noticeable difference is to get an 85HO cold air air cleaner on that thing. You're pulling intake air from about the hottest spot in the engine compartment - right over the engine at the highest point in the compartment. You'll pick up about 1% HP for every 10F you can decrease your intake air temp.

well i have a cobra r svo hood on it so there is alot of air coming in right at the carb/air filter so that should help, plus its a k&n, when you look through the hole in my hood you can see the filter
hope it will help
i wish someone had a guess on how much power i have
hopefully it will be quicker than when it was a stock efi motor with a cam
