What tires provide the best grip?

I second the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 suggestions.

I have an '01 Mercedes CLK55 and the Pilot Sports I had before were getting worn out... not to mention they are REALLY noisy tires. (I had another set on another Benz) I could live with the noise if they were cheap, but they were anything but cheap.

replaced all four with the Goodyears and the car rides better, MUUCH quieter and more confidence inspiring in taking fast turns (at the track of course).

Probably put a set on the GT (255/45/18??) when the KDWs wear out (which seem to be decent but noisy tires)

I don't ever consider wet weather when buying a performance tire. I also don't drag race, don't care about noise and don't care about tread wear. I carve up the mountain twisties so...

1) BFG KDs
2) Eagle F1 Supercar
3) Bridgestone SO3s
4) Yokohama Advans
5) Eagle F1 GS-D3s

The BFG KDWs are a TERRIBLE tire for high speed stability. I've had them. Anyone on here claming their greatness have never really tried a BETTER tire. Otherwise they wouldn't suggest those nightmares. (i.e. mount them...break them in...now accelerate up to 80mph and then go heavy on the brake until you stop. If your rear end doesn't shimmy or worse yet make you end up sideways, I'll give you my next born)
