Well, i'm getting my Cadet Career starter loan of $30,000 in about a month or so, and I figure i'd drop about $6,000 of it on my car. I'm not happy with the power it has right now. So what would you do?

Right now I got two options: Get some AFR 225's and a more aggressive roller camshaft. Right now I just got the 185's and a mild solid flat tappet cam.

or....

Splurge on an intercooled Procharger setup and crank up that boost.

I like the idea of putting out over 400 hp with a good solid NA combo, but with the supercharger i'm pretty sure I'd get more power.

If you have any other ideas of what I should do with 6 or 7 grand on my car, give'em to me.

What CR are you running on that 408? I wouldn't run a blower with anything over 10:1, and even that would be pushing it....With that said, here's some numbers you might expect with boost.

That's the dyno sheet from my friends 94 GT. He has a Dart block 347 with AFR 185 heads, a somewhat mild custom cam, Systemax II intake, and a S-Trim pushing close to 15#. Oh yeah, that's with meth injection too, which added around 50-60 rwhp/rwtq.

Holy cow Batman! So what do you think? A vortech or a procharger P1SC? Is the procharger with an intercooler worth all the extra money?

About the CR, I ashamedly say that I do not know, I'd have to ask the guy who put my combo together. I do know that its probably not too high since the pistons are dished, though.

Oh yeah, I just remembered that he has to run a mix of 93 and 100+ octane otherwise he gets detonation. He tried to fix it in the tune with no luck, and I think he came up with maybe he's using the wrong thickness head gaskets?(something about the quench area??) Definitely talk to your engine builder before you do anything....This is with 8.5:1 compression ratio BTW

Also, just because you have dished pistons doesn't mean you'll have a low compression ratio. Mine are dished and I should have somewhere around 10.8:1 CR. If you know your bore, stroke, piston dish size, and combustion area size you can find calculators online to tell you your CR.

i would start off with a bigger fuel system. Your still running 30#ers and a 190lph pump
i like the suspension ideas, maybe a GR-40 kit from griggs
the procharger is going to give you a lot more power than the better heads. that would be my vote, after the fuel and suspension upgrades of course

Suspension wise, I was just gonna do springs, CC plates, O3 cobra arms. I dont' want to do a K member cuz I really don't feel like pulling the engine again. Plus I'm gonna do the cobra brake swap ASAP.

Hef, I hoping to fly either C-130s or C-17s. What's the 130 life like right now? I know the C-17 guys are flying their asses off right now.

I love NA for sure

I will have a power adder ... some day :D

My first choice is turbo

My second choice is KB

My last choice would be a centri blower

Actually ... I'd most likely go NA stroked Windsor
before
Centri blower on a 302-306

I know how you feel ;)

So many choices
