What to fill tranny with?

ok srry to have hijaked the thread, but know i'm confused i though all the "knew" t-5 style transmissions were "tremec" t-3550's or 4550 and the old fox body had a true t-5 and tremec made a stronger version for the cobra. i'm tired, i think i jsut stripped my gears...

You're right, all T-5s, T-45s, 3550s, 3650s, and TKOs are made by Tremec. I think Borg Warner's transmission division was sold/acquired by Tremec.

A T-5 is a stock Mustang unit. A "World Class" is a slightly stronger and depending on who you talk to, either came in '89 and later 5.0s, early '90s and later 5.0s, or only in the '93 Cobras. When someone refers to their transmission as a "Tremec" or "TKO", it means they have one of the much stronger, larger, and heavier aftermarket units.

tranny fluid

Royal purple makes some good stuff from what I have heard, runs cooler and doesn't break down as fast. Do I sound like one of their plugs on HPTV? There is also another company out there that makes great tranny fluid... NEO ... I haven't tried it on a T5 but have used it in a few newer imports and it works quite well.
