What Turbo Kit Is BEST??? Twin or Single???

Induction concepts HP Performance both offer twin turbo kits... And Many other single turbo companies... HP for twin is the best priced... Induction Concepts is a lot more expensive and HP you keep the battery in the front... I know there was a couple other companies who claimed to make twin kits but never heard much more other than talk... I wont go supercharger... Over 3 grand for the blower then you gotta buy headers... And if you want more HP you gotta send it back for an upgrade... Dont wanna mess with that I wanna do it right the first time! ANy help highly appreciated!!! And what intake manifold is best? BBK ever coming out???

I have no idea... There is probably 20 companies that said word of making them and probably only 10 has come through with it so far... I guess thats why there is so few companies that make superchargers... You either got it or not...

HP uses twin turbos so you don't have to move/delete anything to install the kit.

Cant you keep it emissions legal with a twin and not a single?? Otherwise I didnt think two really made any more power over 1 large turbo, but I know crap about the topic!

here's the deal with twins vs. single in simple terms. though it's not that big of a difference with today's technology and what not. two smaller ones will spool more quickly then one large one. most of these kits are at full power around 2500 - 2800 rpm these days though.

i've been waiting for forever for the induction concepts, the hp kit hit the market and it's definitely putting out some impressive numbers.

HP's kits haven't shipped yet for the mod motors. I thought I read that Induction Concepts has shipped a few???

HP is on ebay... they say it takes a few weeks to get your kit... But I think they are up to date though....

for the mach 1/4v dohc motor, they were still working on the 2v sohc last i checked.

As someone stated earlier. You'll most likely want a twin turbo setup if you go turbo because it spools so much quicker. If your just hardcore racing and you want as much boost as possible a larger single turbo setup will provide what your looking for. However, if you daily drive your stang and want to enjoy boost at low rpms you'll want a twin turbo setup.

With a properly tuned v8 Turbo kit, you would not notice any boost lag with a turbo. Now if you want a street car, you wont be going with a big ass 80 trim turbo. A 60 series trim would be perfect if you would like to go the cheaper route but a Twins Setup is way more preferable than a single on a V motor. Now inline motors are a different story.

I've never seen a production single turbo setup. Most 4 bangers are twin turbos also but i always assumed it was to make up for lack of torque and make it more fun on the street.

production turbo system suck ass. Yes, in order to make stock 4 bangers feel fast on the road, they make them twins.

As tempting as they may be I'm afraid any production turbo kit at this point will still be nothing less than a PITA - HP included.

actualy have u ever seen a twin twin turbo 4 cyl dont think there is enough exhaust to power decent size turbos thats why they go for a bigger single,and im prety sure that their are some 4 bangers out there that would tear ur mustang a new anus, really there is no reason to talk down, especialy wen u dont kno wat ur talking about, like lets say the honda prelude 2.2 forgot engine code is good for 200whp N/a, **** my friend has a neon with a gt35 busting out 450whp on a sohc 2.0 on a car that weighs 2650 pounds, dont b biased just my opinion.

People always gotta hate... 4 cylinder can beat a v8 and a v8 can beat a 4 cylinder... Same with v6's... But in reality it comes down to how they were built and other mods... Traction and so forth... All about the green! No green No speed!!!

I guess you are not familiar with the GN or GNX or the '89 TTA, they all were single Turbos on a V6 right from Detroit. There was one american 4 banger that was also a single turbo, the SVO Mustang.

Speaking of the GN's, most tracks generally have a GN vs. Mustang day/night, and guess what car generally wins 75% or more of the time?

Amazing what those Turbo'd 6's can do.

mogs, he is pretty darn accurate. Most 4 bangers I have seen are singles, not twins. The only real small engine that I had seen that has done rather well with twins is the RX7 TT.

Even the Supra TT people change over to singles if they are serious about racing.
