what type of distributor for blow thru turbo setup

No it wont work with a blowthough.
I have a supercharger blowthrough but I run a Ford style TFI with a Holley Commander fuel injection computer that also runs and sets the timing. Your best bet would be a "Fast" computer module with a distributor that works with there computer, do some research or maybe someone is running one here.

You can run it with a turbo. You will probably want to lock the mechanical advance and max out the vacuum advance. Transgo makes a check valve that keeps the modulator on an auto trans from seeing boost. Use it on the vacuum advance to make it easy on the diaphram. A high dollar programable ignition is the ticket if you have the money, but low tech can get it done too. I have a duraspark and 20 year old MSD6a on mine, but I am waiting on a 6530 MSD box. What is your combo?

yes you can use the distributor with a blow through turbo system. i would however contact msd and get a vacuum can that allows for a boost retard function as well. this way when the boost comes up, the ignition advance is retarded automatically. you can adjust the boost retard feature fairly easily.

It'll work fine. that's exactly what I run. Brian nailed it. I set the mechanical locked out to 18,45 deg total with the vacuum. Boost starts to come on and it pulls timing. No electronics to fail. If the advance fails, the timing is pulled, no blown motor. Going to try more total timing since the slightest load and the turbo drops the vacuum.

i've used a vac adv on mine with no problems, although i don't recommend it (strictly for performance reasons). in 10secondgoal's situation, for example, as soon as he sees boost, he only has 18deg timing. i lock mine out at 35deg and pull timing with my mallory box. when i just start to see boost, i still have plenty of timing.
the mallory box is cheaper and has more features then a msd dig6 box.
