To give you guys a little background on my car it's a 90 gt with a 408. I have a UPR K member and coil over kit that are waiting in the wings to be put on. Before I do I want to save up and get a flaming river rack and new spindles. I'm looking to build this car for road racing/autocross type of handling and squeeze as much tire under the wheel well as possible. While doing research it looks like going with a 95 and up spindle might be the best choice. But before I start buying blindly, I wanted to check to see if there is a better setup out there. And if the 95 and up spindles are the best choice, what parts do I need to convert my car over to 95 spindles? Thanks in advance for the information

94-95 spindles maintain the stock front width. 96 and up widen it by 3/4 inch per side, IIRC. You can do either based on the wheels you want to go with, but keep in mind that the 96 or later spindles will require a skinnier wheel or a wheel with more offset (more backspacing). I'm currently in the works of a 5-lug swap to Cobra brakes, and I'm going with the 94-95 spindles.

Also keep in mind that the most tire you'll fit under the front without a lot of modification or rubbing is a 245-255 width.

for some reason I heard that the corner carvers like the 96+ spindles the best. Does the extra width and toe out give them an advantage around the corners?
