What was it like when you raced for the first time?

Im running for the first time on the 26th. I know burnouts are pointless on street tires, but should I still give them a quick 3 second spin to clean them off a little? If I do give a quick spin should I bother going into the burnout box to do it?

No need for even a 3 second burnout. Just go around the burnout box and spin them real quick, no more then 1-2 seconds to clean them off a bit.

First time I went, I was real nervous as usual. Nervous all the way until the light turned green. I hesitated a bit, but then it was a blast. Of course I ran a 15 something  , but it was great. After the first run down the track, you will be hooked.

Just try to ignore evryone standing there watching you, and stare straight down the track at your goal. Launch it on the 3rd light down the tree as hard as you can, then you know you wont stall. As the tiresd are spinning, let off a bit til they grip up, then put it back down to the floor, and by that time you might want to SHIFT.

Cool, thanks for the info 5.0GT.

My first time wasn't too bad, although i wish i had a revv limiter because when i left the line it just punched it and dumped the clutch, touching about 6500 RPM's, granted it was my first 5.0 and my first time racing.

My buddy went to the track, he staged too far through the lights so he had be back up, problem is when the light turned green he took off.......in reverse, lol, because he didn't put it back in 1st. But he didn't go very far before he realized it, maybe 10 ft or so. Everyone was rolling, lol.
