of course this is more for the "older" peeps.

Reading a post about ricers broght back a HS memory, and I am sure every generation had thier own version of rice....

For me back in highschool (class of 96) it was the fox mustang, seemed every goof/non tech had a fox. Now some were quick but the people who had them really had no idea about anything as far as modding them. I remeber one kid trying to use his n2o to get home after he ran out of gas thinking it would run ok on just the n2o. I have talked to a few other people my age and we were both like man we thought of the fox guys like we do "ricers" now.

hey fellow C/O 96
Yeah there weren't many but i guess there was us with the cadillacs.I Metalic blue with a white leather top and the 15 in subs in the trunk and the 15 in rims with spinners(original spinners on the middle of the rim).OMG i was a ricer.... There were a couple foxes and one 94 mustang. But I dont think cars where as over board as they are now though and the farther back in memory i go the less overboard people were. I remember my brother owning mustangs and camaros and doing nothing but maybe a stereo and or a spoiler. People now Kinda have really tasteless cars.

'95 here. i would have to say--coming from a small midwest town--that a 84 chyenne pickup with mandatory rust option and glass packs would be the ricer of my day.

the guys that had cb antenna's with a tennis ball on it. they also had the bright green/pink double stack windshield wipers.

Well besides the two Porsche's that local doctor's had, I remember the first "non" muscle car that surprised me was the Conquest TSI.......and that's not really a "ricer".......It was all Camaro's, Cougars, Stangs, all the hot rodders ran V8's....that Conquest was the first non V8 that I took note of back in the day......lol

OMG, I forgot about the fugly lifted trucks damn fun though....small town here as well. It was at the edge of the district (still kind small-ish with 800-ish people in my grad class). The town had a pop. of like 260....with over that in dead (coleragh-sp? back in the day).

not so much rice just the "type" that would be rice now...you know the pink shirt collar pop'd guys.

I think its just funny how every gen. has this type in it.

When I graduated High School '81 the parking lot was 73-74 Cutlass and Monte Carlos with 12' long CB Antennas and a Crap Load of Vegas and Pintos with 2' wide rear tires and 8" High Hood Scoops. I myself had a 74 Vega with a 454 that was Tangerine Colored which is how I got the name SpeedyTang. Oh the Good Ole Days. lol

Class of '96 here too... scary....

For me rice of the time was a honda civic hatcback with wire wheels (like 13 or 14") and so much backspacing they stuck completely out of the wheel wells... Or I also remember a car that was red and he painted his wheels, brakes, almost anythign he could yellow... with yellow "racing" stripes... that car was funny...

Graduated in '04. Rice was pretty much what it was now except alot of people I knew were into it. They wised up since then.

For me (class of 97'), well before the fast and furious scene tarnished our hobby, rice for me was the usual cars with cut springs dumped on stock steelies with no hubcaps and stickers for parts they didn't even have. Then we had the hicks in their trucks or irocs at our school that thought they knew it all and all got smoked by my little 4 cyl which I considered them and their tudes domestic rice. Also at that time those chrome tri-bars (not the ones like on our stangs) just came out too and everybody was sporting them, always thought they were ricy at the time as well. Man that was a long time ago, I feel old as crap now thanks a lot
