What Was Your First Car And How Much Did You Pay For It???

My Dad bought me my first car when i was 15 years old in 1968. A 1956 Olds 4 door, we put in a 1960 394 cu in Olds engine in it when i turned 16 years old in 1969, $100 for the car and $100 for the motor. When i got my license in 1969, i also got my first job. Even with gas around 29 cents a gallon i couldn't afford to keep gas in it. I then got my first car loan for $350 and bought me a 40 horsepower VW Beetle. Didn't have much power but i didn't have to worry about gas anymore :)

Here you go. My first car I ever owned, parked next to the latest car I've ever owned

Paid $4500 for the fox in 1997. And as a 17 year old kid...I'm proud to say I earned every cent of that through hard work.

Wow, that is really nice. Those aftermarket seats are killer. Care to share what version of where you got them seats ? I would luv to upgrade my fox with them. Great looking fox, very clean.Them swiss cheese rims are rare, not bad though.

Not aftermarket seats. They are 99-04 GT leather seats front and rear

Front were direct bolt in, although I swapped to fox tracks to ditch the heavy power tracks.

Rear seat backs went in with little mods. Seat bottom requires a little reinforcement near the edges. Since I don't sit anyone in the back seat, I didn't go this far. I'm just laying the cusion down. My back seat is really for show. If you wanted to sit people in the rear, you'll need to build up the edges to support the cushion properly

Not my 1st car,but my 1st new car....In 1967 I ordered a 67 Chevelle SS 396.Took 6 weeks for it to come in to the dealer. It was butternut yellow outside black inside.Buckets,4 on the floor,4:11 posi . 325 H.P. No power accessories except for steering and brakes.....Cost $3,357 -total- It was a great car ,and fast, but nothing like "little blue" pictured in my avatar. :)

My first car was a 1966 Pontiac LeMans. 2-door hardtop, 326, Powerglide transmission, bucket seats, console shifter.
Paid $75 in 1979, towed it home so I could replace the phenolic timing gear and do a valve job. Got it running a few weeks later.
I've since graduated to a 66 Mustang coupe, paid $350 for this one. Got way more than that invested now....

1963 Cadillac station wagon
O.k. it was a ambulance/hearse combo.
I was 18 and the Caddy was 13 years old.
That thing would turn heads better than any hot rod the other boys in school were driving!!
Lots of fun in that old car.
Privacy curtains, shag carpet in the back..... front seat was like a sofa on wheels!!!

Oh yeah, I paid 600$ for it. That was April 1st, 1976.

1989 Supra Turbo. Never driven a stick car before, pops had to drive it home for me, couldn't drive it myself until I could prove to him I could handle hills, traffic, etc (of which I had no problem with). Paid 4k. Loved that car, ignited my entire interest of modifying and working on cars. Ironically brought him with me to get my first mustang a few weeks back. He's much older now and can't do the driving much but I appreciated his effort and it reminded me of when he used to come look at cars with me. I'm sure he scratched his head a few times but he always would ask what I was doing next. I don't know why I started rambling, sorry about that.

HA! My first car was a 1976 Pontiac Sunbird, with the lousy 4-cyl. engine. (Not even the good "Iron Duke" engine.)
It wasn't worth much when I bought it, which is why I could afford it, and it would barely be worth the price of scrap metal today.

If I knew then what I know now, I would have modified the suspension and brakes and dropped a 305 or even a 350 into it! It would have been a straight drop-in, the transmission and drivetrain would have worked fine. ;)

I got my first car five years ago when I was 15. And coincidentally it's the same car I have now! 1992 Mustang LX hatchback with the 5.0L! It was my moms car when I was a kid. It didn't run when I took possession of it. So from then on my dad and I have been spending every last dollar we have trying to make this beautiful car as awesome as it was the day it rolled off the showroom floor! I have done a few subtle modifications to the motor. 1993 Cobra Intake, GT40P heads and headers, Ford Racing spark plug wire, Flowmaster H-Pipes, E303 camshaft, heads have been milled to 59cc's, 2500 stall converter, the pony wheels have been put back on it, head lights and tailights have been replaced, and all outside trim has been replaced and repainted, the interior is 100% stock except the center console lid and ashtray lid have been replaced. She's my baby! :D
