Well as some of you know I was looking in to getting a Vette and that fell through. I started looking at the new 08 Bullit and I really like the looks of it and I always liked the 01 also but I keep looking at performance. It would be a HUGE decrease in performance and I really dont want to go as far as I've went with my car now but Im affraid I would. It would be brand new, have a warrenty and still be something different and still not exactly slow which are all pluses. The thing is, Im getting ready to send my blower in to upgrade it to a T-Trim and have pricing for a built auto w/ stall. Im just not sure what I want to do now, I love drving my car knowing there really isn't much on the street that can beat me but then I wish I had something new and a little more streetable.

So if you had a choice would you take a stock 08 Bullit with maybe a few bolt-ons down the road or take my car that should run 10s when Im done?

I have over 17k in performance parts on my car and knowing that Im going to be pumpng another 6k in it this winter, if I keep it, and it will only be worth maybe 15 when I go to sell it makes me feel sick.

I hear what you're saying, but i don't think its much of a question. You have so much invested into your current 'stang, and you'd get so very little out of it, I would absolutely keep it. I think you have way more into that car then you can ever get out of it. At that point, just keep it and enjoy having a 10 second car!!!!!!!

On the other hand......I see where you're coming from, wanting something new. When my time was cut short with my 04, i decided i wanted something new (05), and now i'm almost glad, becasue its a fresh, new project, and i'll enjoy getting it to the point of my 04.

In the end, in your situation, I would keep what ya got. Good luck with your decision.

I would just keep your current stang...it freegin rocks man! Buying another car will just eat up more money....atleast you really have something now, and its alot better of a car than most people have. I would skip on vettes and the such until your older and have all sorts of money to play with...just enjoy the car for now.

is the T-trim really that much of an upgrade from an s-trim? I'd think a novi 2000 would be the next step, and for the auto - you can really rebuild yours for 550 max power pretty easily and for a lot less money than buying a new one. Just if you're looking at 600+ autos, buying a new built is the best way to go.

A T-Trim is kinda like a Novi 2000 just not quite as good, but Id rather spend $1100 for the upgrade than spend 3-4k for a whole new blower pkg. Also Im looking into 600+ auto since Im at around 500+ now; with the upgrade Ill be past 550 atleast I hope.

The bullit is a nice looking car and would be perfect with the silver horse side window louvers. The thing is you are making 500+ hp now and the bullit is making 315hp. For a stock car the bullit isn't bad at all. I guess if you want a new project get the 08 bullit, isn't that what a hobby is all about, you finish one thing then you build something new. I tell myself I’m just going to keep moding my car and that I won’t sell it but I'm always looking around autotrader. I do love the looks of the s197 when you dress up the exterior.

Just don't sell it... I have that much in my car already and I don't even have the motor bought yet

I'm in an atmosphere where my car is "slow" lol...so that makes me want to keep it and make it faster - but at the same time I understand where having a new, or different car is a BIG plus.... Get down to Indy and there are plenty of cars that will make you think twice about being one of the fastest things on the road

I know there are TONS of cars out there that can beat mine BUT for a semi-DD that you see on the street all the time I havent really ran into that many. I go to Fort Wayne and there a some nasty car there but most get trailord in or or I'll see them maybe once a month just parked and sitting.

I think a mid 11sec car with full interior isn't to shabby but 10s is where its at!

That is a nice car and I would definatly keep it. I like the looks of that body style better than the 05s. But that is just my opinion.

If you're sick of your current car, then adding all the power in the world isn't going to make you like it any more. Sure, the rush of power and the thought of owning a 10-second car is going to be a trip for a while, but that novelty will wear off fast if you're already tired of the car itself.

IMO, I as nice as the '08 Bullitt is, I refuse to pay Ford premiums for yet another bolt on and body kit version of a run of the mill S197. Don't get me wrong, I love the S197 and think it's the best Mustang built to date, but I'd probably just clone my own if I wanted Bullitt looks. That way there's plenty left over for performance enhancements later on down the road and you're still driving the best Mustang Ford has to offer.

If you're buying a collector, then go ahead and buy the new Bullitt, but if you're buying a driver....who gives a crap if it's "the real deal" or not?

Keep your car, its paid for, throw money at it. No matter what you get if you mod it, or drive it, its gonna lose its value.

Save some money man, just keep with your car... thats my opinion.

my advice (comming from someone else that has thought about getting a 03 cobra, m3, gto, zo6) and i have a ton into my car just like you, is keep the car.

i have about 25,000 bucks in mods in my car once the blower project is finished.
you can always add to the collection down the road and have the monsted mustang sitting in the garage too.

my advice is this. change the look of you car if you are tired of it. that is all you really want is something that looks different. you tired of the way it looks.

drop the car, buy some rare expensive wheels wheels, maybe a higher or better cowl hood painted the same color so you can actually tell its a cowl, maybe paint the whole car a different color. of course you would have to fint a real good custom paint place.

now dont get it twisted, your car looks nice and it is clean, but if you are becomming bored of it and you have all the power already, you will be suprised how a unique set wheels and an overall unique look will make you feel.

i feel like my mustang is one of a kind. i know there are others cause i see them at shows or on the internet but not really ever driving down the street like mine. when i do see 1 does he have the power i am gonna have? is his appearance mods well chosen?

a fully done car looks and appearance is unique and rare and you should be proud of it. most mod some or all looks or performance then get tired and get rid of the car. to have the car fully done and addressed both areas is awsome....i would not sell my car just keep working. oh yea, get a nice pair of racing seats. im bored with my interior....thats what im gonna do to spice it up.

I don't think I'd goto a Bullitt either. Going to a Vette was one thing.....a Vette is a quality upgrade in some ways even if it isn't as fast.

A new Bullitt would be a downgrade in every sense except that its new. And I agree, unless you care about the collector sense of it, might as well just get a GT cuz there's nothing too high performance about the upgrades on the Bullitt. If you do anything to it, you'd probably end up swapping out even the upgraded parts and would no longer have a Bullitt anyways.

So either keep your car, buy a plain ol new GT.....or go with a higher quality sports car altogether. That's my .02.

Now that you have come to your senses I would keep your car. That thing is awesome. Go guy yourself an older Mustang and to all the upgrades you want to it. JMO
