if it doesn't increase power there's no point in running a spacer unless u need space.

I ran a holley with trick flows valve covers, the short ones that fit over roller rockers, no spacer but I don't have a stock hood.

No trouble with intake/vc spacing. I'll be surprised if the trickflows are shorter than 94-95 covers yet fit 1.7rrs.

I got a bit of experience with what you seek to do

I mean ... have you seen my sig

Tell us about your plans for the combo

or even better yet

Tell us what you expect after all the bugs are worked out

I'll be happy to share what I've found ... If I can

lol, ya i guess you mite no something about these parts, well as for plans for the car its a DD with good low end in mind, but i do want some good top end numbers also, i will be reusing the stock rocker arms so i wont be spining it past 5800rpms, and after looking at one of ur old threads comparing intakes i ruled out the holly becuase it did very well 5500 rpm and above, it sucked down low, and since i wont have the proper valve train to spin it that high, and strong low end is a goal i dont think it would be a good choice to go with the holley, but then again i thought, longtubes, AFR and a cam ground for low end should make up for the soft low end...u think? what would you do differently? keep in mind im not realy gunna be at the track, i want to compeat/beat LS1's on the street

Here is the madness behind my plans that became my combo

I made my choice of combo based upon looking at M A N Y
dyno charts

The OEM GT40 stuff just petered out too early for my liking

Same could be said for the long runner intakes like Edel Performer
and TFS Street Heat

I knew a mid length runner intake would breath up top better than
those longer runner intakes

Like you ... I had a concern for a soft low end

It needs to be said ... I did my research back in like 2001 -2002
and put it all together late in 2002

Back then ... Not a lot was known about tuning a 94-95

neveless ... Hot Rodding basics have never changed :Word:

I knew what an aggressive spark curve could do for the low end of
a Street Car from back when I was a kid recurving dizzys

My research on the tuning sites showed me you could access the
spark table and command amount of spark at any rpm.
so ........
That told me I had the ability to control amount and rate

As a kid I also learned ...
A cam could be advanced to help the low end
LT's made a very noticeable gain at low and mid range

So ... put all that stuff together ... and

The shorter runner upper would extend the TOP
while
Cam (custom), LT's, & Tune would offset that shorter upper down LOW

I wanted to ... Have My Cake and Eat It Too

I can not stress enough
Without the tune ... Your low end is not gonna be as strong

anyway ... thats the way I saw it and did it

any more Q's ... feel free to fire away
