What's a broken torque converter feel like?

94' GT AODE. What's a broken torque converter feel like? My car's feeling sluggish, it'll stay in gear longer, on the gas the rpm will be higher than normal but the car won't pull like it used to. Also there's a squirrely 3-4 shift.

Any idea, it's pissing me off... infamous 100k mark. hah...

It's probably just the tranny starting to slip. when was the last time you changed the fluid? what color is it now? Nice bright red or dark and brown?

It's actually pretty red, i had it rebuilt little over a year ago and 11k miles. Just outta warranty...

If it's any consolation I'm taking mine in tomorrow to have the trans looked at and I will pm the results to you...

I think my converter is near failure...

mine felt like I was sitting still.. Oh wait that's because I was Most that I hear of, including my own, blows out sending pieces into the transmission pump and requires a rebuild and new convertor. That's what gave me the reasoning to do tranny mods on my 92 Personally I was hammering down and all was fine until I heard a bad sound and coasted to a stop. I didn't have any warning as to what was about to happen.
