Do I have a T-45 or a T-50 transmission in my 1998 GT?
I just changed tp 4.10 gears and am going to change the speedo gear cause I do not have enough cash to get a speedcal yet.
Does the T-500 have the 7 or 8 teeth drive gear, I guess I could just jack up the car and look. How strong is the T-50 tranny?

I'm pretty sure that the T-5 and T-50 is the tranny  As for that manaul stating 1998 - 2000 GT with a T-50, I always thought that T-50s ran from 83 - 96 then they put Borg-warner T-45's in until 98 and midway through 98 it switched to Tremec T-45 until 01, when they put in 3650's :notnice: Your best bet is to crawl under your car and write down the # on the tranny or it might just have the model stamped right into it, either way should be able to use that link to cross reference it.

Now that I think about it, I think that the v-6's still used the t-5's and if you have a Haynes manual, I'm pretty sure they are going to cover both v-6 and v-8's is the same manual and it could possible be a mis-print. Your 98 GT is going to have a T-45 in it. :nice:
