By "tacked on" I mean that it doesn't flow very well with the rest of the car, in my very humble opinion. Your car is one of my very favorite Foxes in the country and I meant no disrespect by my comment. The cowl is just not my cup of tea. Personally, I would have left the stock one as it was, or perhaps painted it to match the car. As stated, the thread asks for opinions and I gave mine.

I miss my beast of a dog too. So young,So confused(lol)!

It looks so out of place, it does not go with ANY of the lines found anywhere on a foxbody. Its very tacky.
