I havent created any threads lately. Just wanna share whats up with my car. First of all, everything about the nitrous system is installed. I put the purge on last Wednesday. For now, I'll have one purge spot and it will be right in the middle of the windshield, where one hole of the wiper is. I'll try to get a " V " shape fitting so I can 2 clouds of juice.
I got some wheels spacers. I didnt wanna run them but for now, I'll use them on stock studs. My calipers were still hitting the inside of the wheel and I wasnt going to grind them this time. Everything seems to be ok now. I also had a tiny tiny leak of coolant from the thermostat housing. I bought the wrong part for it (10$US). I need to get another one
that has the 90*angle in it. Its chrome and is like 40$Can.
I also finished the interior wiring stuff. I got my "L" fitting to plug in my fuel pressure gauge in my clock pod. Now I need an adj. fuel press. reg. so I can connect one very precise gauge right on it AND I'm gonna plug another fuel line to it, so I can connect my interior gauge as well. I'll need a "T" fitting for that.
I had a short circuit in the car for a few days. It was my new switch for my linelock. It was bad. Now I might need a new battery. Something happened with the short. I keep recharging it and it loses its power. The alarm acts funny also. Now all the wiring is fine.
I went to the border on Friday to get my "L" fitting, my wheel spacers, my thermostat housing and my laptop. I went with my GF and her car. Her 2002 Civic is pretty cheap on gas compare to my 90 Cutlass Cierra. So we get to the border. Let me say first that I've been going there for the last few months ALONE and with my POS car. So we get the usual questionning from a "new" guy. At least it was the first time I saw him. Blah, blah, blah. "Please go park your car there and step inside the immigration building. They have your id's now". SACRAMAN. Twice in a year they did that to us. WHen I'm alone, I'm ok but as soon as I'm with her, they are @ssholes. So we sit down, we then fill some kind of declaration sheet. Then, for 30 minutes, 3 agents with black gloves and flashlights searched the civic EVERYWHERE. Hood, trunk, under, gas tank filler hole, all the possible cracks inside and outside of the car. OMFG. I was beginning to get mad. There was nothing to be found. So the biat** found my "invoices for my laptop" in the car. It's not like they were hidden or something.. ANd she says " I thought you were only gonna get car parts ? " I'm like "Yeah, this is for my car". Then 3 agents are listening while I try to explain to the stupid c*** that this works with the EEC tuner which is blah blah blah. As expected, she's totally clueless about what I'm talking about. it took another 5 minutes and then we were finally released. Lost 45 minutes there. We were lucky not to have the car stripped down in pieces. And lucky not to have the anal search. And she was lucky cause I was gonna s*** right in her freaking hand if she was gonna touch me.
The laptop is amazing...at least for 110$ CAN. Already changed my tune twice. Its pretty cool to now have a little bit more control. My friend came today. I told him I was leaving for a quick ride, just to check for the wheel spacers and calipers issues. Tol him I wasnt gonna do crazy things. He loves the sound. So do I but its just too loud now. So on the way back, knowing that the wheels were ok and such, I just drive in 3rd and almost floor it from 3000 to 4000rpm. That was pretty fun
I could just feel the power getting bigger and bigger until I let go the throttle. I cant wait to floor it til 5600-5800rpm or so. Power peak is suppose to be at like around 5500rpm. So now that I saw a little bit of the power, I need to see a little bit of the torque story. And I knew that the torque is like monster at really low rpm. So I'm almost home and I'm in 2nd at 1500rpm and I almost floor it for half a second. Let me tell you, lots of torque. I mean the throttle press for that half a second hit hard enough to lock both our seatbelts on our shoulders. Maybe it was doing this before...propably. I cant remember. But it was very very nasty.
My friend doesnt wanna be in the passenger seat IF I try the nitrous on the street.
Just need to fill the bottle now.
