What's involved in CD player/ AC controls swap

For a 91 Stang...
What all do I have to do/cut in order for me to swap my CD player and AC/heat controls so that my CD player isn't down by my shifter. Does the wiring for the AC/heat need to be lengthened or does it stretch just fine?
Am I going to need a drimmel tool to do this?
Please post some pics if you can.

You need this: http://www.bestkits.com/ViewImage.aspx?img=i/BKFJ1550B.jpg This is used to put the radio in place of the heater controls and the heater controls go in place of the radio without any modifications. Unless you didn't drill any holes for a mounting kit, you do need to do that. Here is a pic: http://home.comcast.net/~bigcletus93/audio/15.JPG.

There may be, but that kit makes it a whole lot easier. Besides, it's only around $15-20.

Alright, do you happen to know the part # for that or how to go about ordering it? There is no info on it on the site and I tried to find it by starting at the home page and couldn't get to it. Thanks.

You can get 2 diff. brands. Metra or Best Kits(the website). Walmart will usually sell the Metra ones. The part number for that one is 99-5510. Or you can order the one off of the website. The part number for that one is BFKJ1550B. The only thing you will have to do is space either one out about 3/4" to make it flush with the ac/heater controls. Then just make a panel to cover it and you are set.
