In the stock exhaust what is more restrictive the stock mufflers or the stock H pipe??? I want to free up some ponies without making the car too loud. Would installing a free flow H pipe make the car any louder with stock mufflers??? Or what do you guys suggest???

The stock catted h-pipe is by far more restrictive. Replace it with a hi-flo catted x-pipe or an o/r x-pipe to gain 8-12 rwhp. The car will become only a little louder. The stock mufflers, from what I hear, actually flow prettly well so there is little performance gain from replacing them.

I agree, if you have the equipment, if you swap to an off-road mid-pipe with stock cat-back, I'd like to hear a clip. I personally think the tone of the stock exhaust is nice, just too quiet.

midpipe. It'll make a little louder but you'll be happy in the end.

Replace it with an Off-road midpipe.

The loudness and drone is a result of a free flowing system, you cant have it both ways. If you don't want "loud" stay stock.

Replacing the midpipe is the route you want to go. I have full-tube headers feeding an O/R X-pipe, but I left the catback stock because I didn't want the drone I had on my old car with Flows. The car makes a lot of power, but the idle is near stock and there is no drone. Plenty of loud at WOT, however.

EDIT- migh speling suks
